Crescent City is one of the many nicknames of New Orleans (AKA The Big Easy, AKA The City that Care Forgot AKA NOLA). In celebration of the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend Nike have released two packs: the NOLA Gumbo League pack – which reinvents KD, Kobe and LeBron signature hardwood kicks; and this Crescent City pack – which gives a unique NOLA styling to three off-court models, the AF1 CMFT, the Air Up and the Flystepper 2K13.
The AF1 CMFT (short for comfort) is a gumbo-like stew of Nike SportsWear’s best known uppers: Foamposites, cork, elephant, gator, pony hair, and safari. The Air Up (originally a basketball sneaker when it was first released in ’94) reps the Big Easy’s beloved boiled crawfish with its crustacean-red upper. The Flystepper 2K13 (which frankly look like Supra invaded the innovation kitchen), uses faux-alligator straps to tie down the raised synthetic upper.
The pack will be available February 13 from Nike.com and at selected NSW stockists.
